Monkey Run Peru

Ended in Lampa yesterday, about 55km short of our target. Checked in to our luxury accommodation and headed to the cafe for beers and food. That's where I notice a local in hysterics pointing at me. Turns out he'd seen my rather spectacular tumble in to a river earlier that afternoon - which had no bearing on our shortfall in mileage, probably. 

About half an hour after getting three drowned monkeys running again I was attacked by a bastard of a dog that bit me twice and then promptly fucked off after I took a tumble that lost me my front brake. 

All in all a good day.

So. Back in a WiFi zone. Thursday started off finding a mechanic for a quick buke once over. Then we headed into the abyss. Slow going at 4300m but a beautiful climb on a ‘track’ I think the map calls it. Didn’t get where we wanted to but we needed another mechanic and there was a ‘hostel’ there. But 3 alpaca blankets keeps anyone warm
