I rode all my childhood until early twenties, a lot of it endurance and farm-type herding. On moving to the Big Smoke horse riding got a bit harder to come by to say the least. Trying to fit a horse in a one-bed first floor flat in North London is not as easy as you might think. So now I'm limited to the occasional hack with whomever will have me (??). I ride my bike instead. And climb cliffs and mountains. But having just broken my collarbone on the verge of 2012 I feel I have got all bone breakage out of the way for this most awesome of years, and I'm not talking about the Olympics here.
Getting more and more frustrated with each passing day for not being able to move around without a shoulder brace and arm sling –– in the words of Chandler Bing –– I've about had it with your *that ride's gonna kill you* and your *that's the most mental thing I've ever heard* and your *10 weeks of absolute rest.* The bottom line is riding the Mongol Derby is cool and you know it.
