Polly is very bent. Can only really do straight lines on smooth roads. Fortunately we're in Mongolia, the land of superhighways! 270 miles to UB...

Got lost in the Gobi but found our way again after 4 hours. Polly's chassis is starting to show signs of wear... Don't really have brakes or steering either

Skirting the Gobi on terrible corrugated roads. Polly still behaving despite close encounters with camels and sand dunes!

We made it at least into Mongolia! Now the fun begins; the roads are non-existant! Really - just dust, ruts, massive hills and the odd Yak.

Having a rest day in Barnaul. Little bit of shopping and some good food. Polly seems very happy but wants to be on TV. Any film crews going west?

Made it into russia with surprising ease. Possibility of a hotel tonight seems appealing. Polly seems happy but holly is moaning a little still.

Holly has been welded up today. Apparently welding snapped chassis is common here! Polly has worn a king pin but hitting it with a hammer seems to work.

We're now a few hundred miles north of the city. Bob and Holly are popping spark plugs and unfortunately Holly's chassis has produced 4 large cracks!

We avoided the punch-ups at the Kazak border control and have since been looking for Borat... not found him or anyone that looks even remotely like him!

Uzbekistan is very nice, Bukhara is like Aladdin's cave. Polly happy now we've oiled her suspension, fixed the rattles and given her a bath!
