Route set... sort of

We've decided that since we just traveled from China, through Central Asia, the Caucus and are currently in Turkey, that we would like to see new territory and go the northern route on the Mongol Rally heading East. Otherwise we'd be making the world's biggest by land backtrack! See our route on [Abandon the Cube](http://www.abandonthecube.com) for what we did in 2009. Here is a map of what we will do by late 2010 (yes, we're using the Mongol Rally as a means of conveyance back East!)

For the 2010 Mongol Rally Route, we're excited to go north, and with the more relaxed route we'll have time to see things out of the way and do a few detours. The tentative route (even though the map above differs slightly) is:

Italy - Austria - Czech Republic - Poland - Ukraine -Russia - Kazakhstan - Russia - Mongolia

but we're going to do our research and map scouring early to find what there is to see along the way.

...and We're In!

The *Abandon the Cube* Team was estatic to land a spot in the 2010 Mongol Rally launching from Italy. Our thoughts at this stage are as follows:

- Extreme glee - Wondering about sponsorships - Wondering about team mates (two -to- three more spots in the car, folks!) - How to deck out the car - If we should all get mullets for the trip

More to come as we set up the team website and start searching (pleading) for sponsors.

We're currently in the Republic of Georgia, working our way West, so updates may be sporadic at first....

The Mongol Rally was amazing! Can't wait to get on the road again.

As for right now, I'm in Beijing writing. Check it out on a website we created to rub our freedom in everyone's face: www.abandonthecube.com
