Jakarta Capital Region, Indonesia
Last few hours in Indonesia. There have been highs, and there have been lows. Many hours spent with mechanics, had our bones shaken from our bodies on the Sumatran roads, eaten some funky looking things and met some fantastic people along the way. One thing is for sure, it's been one hell of adventure! Out x@
Jakarta Capital Region, Indonesia
Made it to the finish line this morning. Pretty stress free journey from the ferry down to Jakarta to be greeted with some well earned bintangs. The combined smell of the 4 of us has become somewhat difficult to bare. Time for a much needed shower!
Lampung, Indonesia
We're on a boat, we're on a boat! Powering across the high ocean towards Merak, then hopefully onwards towards our final destination; Jakarta. We'll pass Krakatoa en route, hopefully she's still fast asleep. Some repairs need sorting before we hit the road, not least another drive shaft fix, but hopefully we can sort them ourselves and be on our way! We experienced an altogether new level of discomfort today, and Gareth needs to buy a new toothbrush... but that's a story for another day.
Bengkulu, Indonesia
Arrived in Bengkulu. Need to source a truck to speed us to the ferry port for tmrw evening. Sampled some rather delicious Padang cuisine en-route here, much to Will's dismay! Both rickshaws appear to be purring away nicely at the moment. Not sure what is more detrimental to their health though; the pothole ridden roads or bouncing around on the back of a truck.

Awesome drive down the coast yesterday. AA2 exhaust has just fallen off, but appears to be a simple fix
West Sumatra, Indonesia
Banana pancakes on the beach for breakfast. Doesn't get much better.
Padang, Indonesia
Made it to Padang this morning on the back of the least comfortable truck in the eastern hemisphere.
Mumbang Masundutan, Indonesia
We're on a truck! We're on a truck! Everybody look at us we're riding on a truck! Thanks to a late night collision with a pothole the size of the grand canyon we have a broken drive shaft to add to the other team's engine problems. Hopefully get to Padang and source some parts, then the plan is to carry on from there. To make matters worse, we're down to our last few bintangs!
Parapat, Indonesia
Awesome views round Lake Toba yeste
North Sumatra, Indonesia
Moderate to slow progress today. On the bright side Berastagi does an awesome nasi goreng! 4 hours spent entertaining the mechanic's 8 kids and extended family this afternoon was thoroughly enjoyable!
