Well, we are officially out of it. Have spent the last two day trying to get into Russia, and they won't let us (they don't like the paperwork on the car; THE PAPERWORK EVERYONE ELSE HAS BEEN FINE WITH). Something got lost between an American buying a French car in the UK and driving it into Russia. They finally told us today "Go back to Latvia. Do not come back with this car." Latvia didn't really want to let us back in, because they were starting to wonder what the hell was up. So screw it. We can't finish the Rally, but have three weeks off from work still until our plane ride back to the states, so we're going to just drive all over the EU and have a hell of a time. Fuck Russia. But best of luck to all of you who are still in this. We hope all of you make it all the way!
Spent two hours trying to get into Russia from Latvia today, all to no avail. Trying again tomorrow.
Okay, my car is doing great, but my 43 year old body is breaking down slowly. This is something I never experienced in all my travels. Am I really getting old? Well, in Riga at least, and on to Russia tomorrow.
Man, was every single road in Poland under construction? Lithuania is beautiful though. On to Latvia this morning.
One of the teams is in India on the map? Wow, that's really an un-route.
In Warsaw. Feel like I'm so behind you guys. But this American wanted to see some sites at the beginning. Now it's time to put the pedal to the metal.
Just pulled in to Amsterdam. I hear the brownies are delicious here. It must be because of the fine chocolate. I'll have to try a couple.
