Altai Republic, Russia
At the border to Mongolia and have been since last night but it's still not looking like we are going through any time soon. There are about 10 other teams here too. Perhaps time for another game of football and a good old English brew.@
Gorno-Altaysk, Russia
It is bloody cold in Serbia! Who knew... On the plus side, had burgers for dinner round the camp fire. Mongolia tomorrow!
Astana, Kazakhstan
Trying to find a post office and ended up at a tile warehouse. Our convoy has now split up due to one teams kaz visa expiring today, but hopefully we will catch them up. Only six days to get to Mongolia. Better get a wriggle on!
Qarabutaq, Kazakhstan
Halfway between Qarabutaq and Komsomol'skoe, leaving our campsite when Alex decided to drive the front wheel of their car down the middle of a concrete vehicle checkpoint ramp. Not wanting to be outdone, or perhaps from sheer excitement the Matiz sprung an oil leak. Think we'll get a brew on whilst waiting for the tank to drain.
Aqtöbe, Kazakhstan
Tried to register with the police but not able to until Sunday. Might cause a problem when we try to leave the country. Now sitting cross legged on cushions on the floor round our dinner table. In a hotel tonight for a well needed shower and clothes washing!@
Oral, Kazakhstan
Tyre fixed, Uzbek off the schedule and Pasta again for Dinner. All would be well in this field of lavender except our car failed to start again. Just how we roll here.
Atyrau, Kazakhstan
Border crossing yesterday pretty smooth. Now bumping along through Kazakhstan in a convoy of four. Need to make a decision as to whether we will realistically have enough time to do Uzbekistan as well considering we are now moving a lot slower on these turbulent roads, and we also need to find a garage to fix the tyre I managed to bend in a pot hole yesterday :s
