Time to begin this blog
Bit late in the game for this, but I suppose now is the time to start promoting the rally we have decided to take part in.
Our team consists of Dave Hill (Weymouth, UK), Simon Kaylinger (Sydney, Australia), David Noakes (Essex, UK) and Simon Wright (Nottingham, UK).
Back late last year, we were faced with the challenge of finding an appropriate car to use for our 10-12,000 mile adventure. As our team ranges from 6 ft 3 to 6 ft 7 in height, we need something pretty sizeable with plenty of room, but the aim is to travel 'light'(ish). The obvious choice was a Toyota Estima, with a robust 2.2 litre diesel engine, sliding doors and rotating 'conference style' seats, this would have been perfect.

However, just before committing to a purchase, I sensibly decided to give The Adventurists a call, only to discover that we weren't allowed anything with an engine exceeding 1.2 litres in capacity. Back to the drawing board..
After scouring the classifieds, we came across a 1.2 litre Fiat Doblo with only a mere 53,000 miles under her belt, and a cambelt recently changed, all for £800. With tonnes of headroom this should do the trick.
