Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
16th 12.30pm. We are at the finish line about to have a full English with a beer. Backsides are in agony after a 42 hour non-stop cross-country mad bus ride. Mission accomplished. Thank you everyone.

Khovd, Mongolia
Due to the remote chance of us finishing the rally in our tight timeframe we have opted to leave the car at the second drop off point. A sad day and difficult decision, yet sensible as Mongolia will benefit from a cracking little car. Now to try and get home.
Khovd, Mongolia
13th 9.40am. Slept out in the wilderness last night, very pretty and very quiet. Nightmare drive since first thing. Towed out once and dug out of sand twice. Looks like another night in the hills.@
Bayan Olgii, Mongolia
Late update for yesterday, minimal mobile signal. Slept in a fenced off concrete pad in the Mongolian customs. Quite cold. Escaped at about 1pm. Scenery is beautiful - untouched.
Biysk, Russia
10th 11pm. Very long day. Crossed into Russia with no problem leaving Kazakhstan behind. Lost in two cities but helped by some friendly locals. About 500km from the Mongolian border, so fingers crossed for tomorrow afternoon in the Altai mountains.
Pavlodar region, Kazakhstan
9th 9pm. Made it to Pavlodar. 6 hours lost in Astana getting the immigration form stamped to prevent us falling foul of the border guards. Slightly different re-entry into Russia planned for tomorrow.@
Astana, Kazakhstan
8th 6pm. Another great day driving. Only a few miles without roads, another 700km. Astana is impressive, almost brand new with some stunning buildings.
Kostanay reg., Kazakhstan
7th 8pm. Great day today with 800km covered. Poor car didn't like the poor quality fuel available in the sticks. Back on 95 and she's good. Same again planned for tomorrow.
Aqtöbe, Kazakhstan
6th 6pm. Comfortable bed and shower found after another fun off-road day. Beer and dinner now. Car is running well but has thick dust everywhere. tomorrow is an 800km day so an early night for us. We have been reassured that the roads will be good.
Atyrau, Kazakhstan
4th 8.30pm. Very hot day today. Kazakh border was trouble free and seemed to take ages. Probably due to the number of rally teams passing through. Kazakh roads are so bad we couldn't stop laughing. Trying to find some digs in Atyrau now.
