I'm a vet and in my spare time I like to do a bit of adventure racing - mountain biking, running, kayaking and other sporting activities while navigating to check points. The Mongol Derby is an exciting challenge for me and a chance to race against Richard Dunwoody - I always wanted to ride in the Grand National - I guess this is the next best thing????
I also get the chance to revisit my favourite country "The Land of Blue Sky" and raise money for a great charity "Mercy Corps" that will be supporting the rural people of Mongolia that have hit poverty.
I am training hard at the moment - riding as many horses as possible to get in that endurance training.... looking forward to getting out there now only one week to go!
