a lot has happened. We have lost a cylinder on our engine so down to 2. Keeping on going though take each checkpoint as it comes. Really hard going now. Have to push up hills.
Semey, Kazakhstan
crossed in to Russia heading to the Mongolian border through the night.
Almaty, Kazakhstan
Nightmare! Drove east around the lake to discover 10km from the Kazakh border that it was closed. Had to come all the way back to Bishkek, then head for Almaty. Hostel was closed in Almaty when we arrived at 3am, so decided to plough on. Still driving. 32 hours. Semey is the target.
Issyk Kul Province, Kyrgyzstan
having 1day at the lake. DO NOT try to get to the boarder east of here because it is closed. Cost us 5 hours so far.
Andijan, Uzbekistan
the head of police for the district made us his official guests. He brought us food and vodka! Then we played football on the towns new pitch. Had a shower in the police headquarters and slept in the new gym with a police guard posted outside! Had an official convoy to the boarder after he bought us breakfast!
Tashkent, Uzbekistan
finally arrived in Tashkent after 21 hours on the road thru the night. Finally found a cash machine as Uzbekistan doesn't do them. Anywhere. Finding out about Tajik visa in the morning.
Samarkand, Uzbekistan
driven through the night from nukus. Been going 18:30 hours now. Heading to Tashkent. Harry cracked the windscreen by standing on it. Idiot! Moustaches keeping spirits high.
Republic of Karakalpakstan, Uzbekistan
there are no cash machines here. As in, they don't exist, not we can't find one! If you plan on coming, bring cash. Nice people though
Republic of Karakalpakstan, Uzbekistan
spent ten hours at the boarder. Just incredible. Take food and water if your going!
Nominated as captain, leader, beating heart and massive nuts of the team due to natural leadership presence. Probably not the most organized of all homo sapiens but when your leader just delegate it.
All about the adventure and experiencing different cultures which explains my jizzy pants every time I think about the trip.
Lets do this
I have been intrested in traveling all my life and it has been an ambition of mine to visit every county on the world since I can remember. I love meeting new people and trying new things and I hate the beaten track. This trip will help me do all this and raise money for charity at the sane time! Which is only a good thing.
