It’s been a wild few days so I forgot to blog haha! The main event being a fire in our hotel room in Udaipur at midnight two nights ago. Luckily Sarah woke up because she couldn’t breathe and alerted the rest of us and the guys we’re travelling with put it out. Was pretty crazy - watching a burning mattress being thrown from a third story window into a narrow cobbled street! We were all a bit shaken up but recovered the next day by exploring the spectacular palace at Udaipur, encountering an elephant as we made our way out of the city and (my personal highlight) seeing a leopard cross the road in front of us as we drove through hills last night :)

Today we made it to spectacular Jodhpur where I experienced the most hectic driving of my life, literally crawling through crowds of people and motorbikes and then lanes so narrow we were almost scraping through!

Sarah, Bec and I finished the day with some great zip lining at the ridiculously beautiful Mehrangarh fort overlooking Jodhpur and now we’re tucking into dinner and beers.

So... goodnight! X

Absolutely awesome day today. Woke up at 5am and climbed 575 steps to watch sunrise from the top of a rock in the magnificent Hampi (36sqkm of ruins scattered through hills, tumbled boulders, paddy fields and gorgeous waterways). Did a little bit of exploring and managed to avoid the crowds and find someone to take us in their coracle to check out some of the ancient temples. At that time of the morning it was utterly magical, we felt like we’d been transplanted to some magical kingdom as the water was like a millpond,, the mist still covered everything, a coral coloured sun rose over us and jewel coloured kingfishers flitted past.

Then got in 6 hours of driving this afternoon (a relief after the 14 we did yesterday!) and are now enjoying exploring the markets and getting dinner in Vijayapura :)
