Follow Finn, Max and Harry as we take on the infamous Poles of Inconvenience Rally. We'll be trying to hit as many poles as we can in the three weeks before continuing on a mammoth 10,000 mile journey across deserts, jungle and mountains in a shit box we traded for a packet of quavers behind Sainsbury’s. You're not ready...

Cool Earth

Cool Earth aims to reduce the impacts of climate change by combating deforestation in a variety of rainforest locations. Cool Earth does not buy rainforest directly, but rather establishes sustainable agreements with local communities to ensure that local communities opt not to sell the nearby forest to loggers. These agreements aim to improve the lives of these communities to the point where they can withstand pressure to sell to loggers, and are based on the needs and specific requests of the community. They have previously involved support for local industries such as cacao and coffee, technical assistance, funding for local schools, provision of boats for emergency health evacuations, and targeted maternal healthcare. Based on this, Cool Earth’s work also contributes to economic empowerment at a community level.

Ovarian Cancer Action

We are Ovarian Cancer Action –action is one third of our name but it’s 100% of what we are about. Each year, 7,500 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer and right now, other cancers, such as breast cancer, had better survival rates two generations ago than ovarian cancer does today. We’re here to change all that. We work to raise awareness and understanding of the 4 main symptoms of ovarian cancer so women know what to look out for. We also fund innovative research with world leading labs so we can make the biggest impact we can for improved treatments – and save more lives. But, of course, there’s more work to be done. Take action with us now and transform the lives of women today and for generations to come.

Oddballs

Testicular Cancer is the most common cancer to affect men between the ages of 15-49. However, if detected early, Testicular Cancer is one of the most curable cancers. Help us raise awareness of Testicular Cancer to breakdown the stigma associated with the disease and to encourage more young men to CHECK themselves on a monthly basis, and in doing so detect any problems early.

Meningitis Research Foundation

A world free from meningitis and septicaemia. That’s our vision; what shapes and informs everything we do as a Foundation. Our role in that? To support and connect people and research to drive action and save lives. Our strategy, from 2021 to 2025, sets out how we will work towards achieving this. It outlines the four goals and the four outcomes we are working towards every day. Goal 1: to enable research for better evidence and policy; Goal 2: To transform public and policy engagement in meningitis; Goal 3: To secure the profile and funds to deliver our goals; Goal 4: To grow our capacity to deliver at scale. It applies to the work of Meningitis Research Foundation in the UK and internationally, and to our member organization, the Confederation of Meningitis Organisations (CoMO).
