The lodge manager keeps saying "dukkah dukkah dukkah" to us. No idea what he's about to bring us for dinner hut I'll bet it's not dukkah.

 Stopped for a chat, and an entire bus full of guys what do said they were Odisha police wanted photos with us... Next minute a truck hit a motorcyclist across the road and calamity ensued. A couple of the police guys ran towards it but then the others stopped them, and they all hurriedly got on the bus and left. Very angry mob, some with bats, we're making a lot of noise across the road, I wouldn't want to be that truck driver!

Parlakimidi, Odisha, India

our lodging has both a western and squat toilet, 5 different cold taps in the bathroom, grimy walls and dirty bedsheets, and 15 electrical switches to operate the fan, powerpoint, AC, and the one working light. "the nicest place in town" two of the friendly townsfolk independently assured us.

Gosthani

Visakhapatnam

We are at visakhapatnam beach right now! Thinking of heading a little inland to paralakhemundi for tonight, then through the mountains and back to the beach at go paper and maybe up to Puri tomorrow night
