We have finally managed to cross the border after a 2 and a half day wait at the border, and we our now setting our sights on the 5 week finish party in UB. The roads could definitely be classed as interesting but seeing as ranger bob now has fully functioning 4 wheel drive we should be fine! Even if it is held together with 2p coins!!
Almaty, Kazakhstan
Were just leaving Almaty on our way to Semey, Ranger Bob is not happy as the UJ on his rear prop-shaft died on the way into Almaty, so he is now only front wheel drive! Were pleased to be on the road again though as Almaty turned out to be a very expensive city!
Bukhara Province, Uzbekistan
A good days driving done, the 150km of no road got a bit tedious though!! Added another tow to Ranger Bob's score card and a second tow rope he's snapped! Night out in bukhara tonight then a steady day to samarkand tomorrow.
Atyrau, Kazakhstan
got into Kazakhstan without to much trouble Stayin in Atyrau before heading on with Alan to the aral sea
Astrakhan, Russia
here for the night with five other teams in convoy, before heading into kazakhstan, unfortunately what we were looking for was a 10 minute drive away so in early in.@
Volgogradskaya oblast, Russia
just left Volgograd, took us four days to get into an ok state to drive after club Amsterdam. On our way to Kazakhstan, to sample some really bad roads! Got a good 6 car convoy going now, with ranger bob leading the parade.
Kyiv city, Ukraine
Just finished a 30 hour session in the car across Ukraine, ranger bob is taking the roads' pot craters on the road in his stride, with everyone else's gear! Hoping to make russia tomorrow, another long day, meeting up with Alan the c&!t in Volgograd!
