Second Chances Program at the Blackburn Correctional Complex
Second Chances is a charity run by the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation and is based at the Blackburn Correctional Complex in Lexington in the heart of horse country. The program is mutually beneficial for ex Thoroughbred racehorses and the inmates at Blackburn; it gives the horses a job after racing, and lets the inmates learn new skills and simply enjoy the benefits of being around horses.
