Ulan-Ude, Russia
day 1, busy day today so started off with a lie in, arrived at border just in time for lunch, arghh! Made it up to ulan ude with serious cooling probs! After a lot of topping up we chill with sergey; a rus lorry driver who gave us bread, tea and advice never to drive the cab again, or it would explode! We thought it over in a 24hr cafe until we realise the chairs would make perfect beds zzzz.

After a few awsome nights courtesy of marco polo, and mornings in amsterdam. 10 day rus visa in hand, we leave this amazing capital north for the border.

30km from Baj, taxi front right ball joint popped out bringing the cab to a stop with the wheel pointing inwards! Ratchet strapped upped, were moving slowly, night with the lads then town tomorow!

jimny fixed along with many other cars so we set off from Altai 2nights ago with a spring in our step/suspension. ~100k from bayan..

4 nights on the road, numerous Fiat repairs, saxo roof rack having trouble staying in one place, jimny finaly gave up on rear suspension, rear axle snapped in two, currently in cab with the chase, jimny on back of the worst truck in the gobi, going into Altai, hopeful for a fry up!

another swish yurt camp complete with fine food, more ralliers and booze. Waking up to a quick dingy ride/wash and were off to Almati.

back in oglii to fix the fiat. Another night in our yurt. Up early to send mu on his way home :-(. Building up supplies for the next few nights towards Hovd.@
