Few days acclimatising before we kick off on Tuesday
'A glorified lawnmower versus the highest roads in the world. This is a difficult, remote adventure designed for a small band of seasoned, hardy Adventurists', welcome to the Rickshaw Run!
At the end of June, we (Louis & Felix) will be embarking on a 2,000+ km journey across India, from Leh (3,500m above sea level) in the Himalayas to Jaisalmer (225m above sea level) located in the Thar Desert. Our chosen Steed? A 10.5bhp three wheeled rickshaw. Bone shakingly fast and world renowned for taking on extreme terrain.

We will be raising money for 3 Charities, 100% of the donations will be split between:
COOL EARTH - https://www.coolearth.org/
STUMP UP FOR TREES - https://stumpupfortrees.org/
THE JUNIPER TRUST - https://thejunipertrust.org/
Cool Earth is the Adventurists chosen charity who work alongside indigenous villages to halt rainforest destruction.
Stump Up For Trees is is an ambitious, community-based charity focused on woodland creation and enhancing biodiversity in the Brecon Beacons area of south-east Wales. We're mindful of the carbon footprint of this adventure and we're aiming to raise enough money to roughly cover the number of new native trees required to off set our trip.
The Juniper Trust do amazing work all over the world and have successfully funded the construction of a new hostel for children in Leh, the start point of our trip. Before the hostel construction, secondary schooling was only available in Leh, which was a week-long and often dangerous trek away. To address this issue, a hostel was built near Leh to accommodate the children from Lingshed while also supporting traditional Buddhist practice and culture.
This trip is by no means going to be easy.
Not only are we driving a very unsuitable vehicle on very bad roads in a very remote part of the world, we're doing this at an altitude that would give a mountain goat vertigo.
As the warning which we have signed up to reads:
These are genuinely dangerous things to do.
The website is written in a light-hearted fashion but you cannot overestimate the risks involved in taking part in this adventure.
Your chances of being seriously injured or dying as a result of taking part are high. Individuals who have taken part in past Adventurists' adventures have been permanently disfigured, seriously disabled and even lost their life. This is not a glorified holiday, it's an unsupported adventure and so by its very nature extremely risky. You really are on your own and you really are putting both your health and life at risk.
A huge thanks to any donations gratefully received. We will be updating the instagram account, give us a follow to stay updated,
Louis & Felix
