Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

On Monday we found the time to visit the Christina Noble Childrens Foundation's orphanage camp on the suburbs of Ulaan Bataar. It was great to experience first hand where all your donations have gone and see the good work of the staff and volunteers of CNCF in practice. It's not too late to donate, Check out www.london-mongolia.com for more information on how to support this cause and the amazing children of the foundation! Thanks!!

This text update is a little late, but for those who don't know the lost wolves made it to the finish in Ulaan Bataar! However we arrived without the Great Hyundai Accent, known to many as the "Green Giant". Faultless until a silly run in with a muddy ditch, a rally ender for us due the submerged electrical control system for the fuel system - mounted in the back bumper! She served us well, we dropped her of at a designated drop off - only 400km from the finish line. With the help of the Ambo team we joined forces to make the finish line on sunday 4th September 2011! A triumphant finish after an epic rally!

Barnaul, Russia

..... Found a station that would accept my visa card and I got a round of 98 octane for the Mongvoy! Failed to find a hotel (all booked up) in town so had to take a trip a couples of miles out to camp last minute/late night! Although we did spot a subway for some western delights. Woke up to more trouble with the Ambo and spent today getting a new alternator fitted!

with heavy heads we hit the road north for our second from last boarder crossing into Russia! A smooth timely transition with no bribes necessary. Poopy stops still on the cards as two more of the Mongvoy fall foul of the runs! Good roads so far en route to Barnaul. Some decent countryside too which makes a pleasant change from Kazakh's wastelands!

Semey, Kazakhstan

Arrived in Semey in good time. Decided to relax for lunch ahead of a night out. Surprised with modern western services after recent backwards towns and villages! Internet, supermarkets, restaurants, bars and cafes! The Tsar delivered yet again as we hit the lash. Found our way to local club, for more celebrity style attention from the locals. Felt like we walked into a wedding party in a social club. I was invited to a table in the company of a Russian atomic scientist toasting way too much cognac & enjoying chinese food! Two strippers came out of the woodwork for a show that bought everyone off the dance floor and back to seated silence!? Pleasant surprise! We ended up ushered out after Ryan danced with the wrong lady. Some aggression shown by the locals but not reciprocated ! Everyone made it home in one piece! Never a dull moment for the Monvoy!

East Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan

we were greeted by a horse back sheppard with two fake legs and missing half his hand. Apparently we camped in an old mine field!? We thanked him for letting us share the land and gave him a pack of smokes, which he was more than happy with! The new Tsar led us onto towards Semey, sticking to election speech the "passenger stop n shuffle" was successfully implemented!@
