Done. That is all.
Done. That is all.
Spent last night in an Indian castle, with a horse and everything! Only need to tackle 110km to Jaisalmer today.
Spent four hours on dirt roads today and it was so bumpy the welding on my frame started to break. Going to see if duct tape will fix it tomorrow but if not I'll have to find a welder. Aiming to hit the finish line on schedule on the 14th!
Can tell I'm getting North because in addition to cows, goats, and humans wandering around the middle of the highway there are now also camels. It seems like there's more checkpoints along the way too, still have yet to pay a bride though!
As with most things in India (speed limits, money, time) schedules are fairly irreverent. Ended up in Ahmedabad with some of the Germans tonight after my rickshaw decided to just stop moving while going 55km/h in the middle of the freeway. Will probably replace the fuel filter tomorrow morning and see how far that takes me - tentatively aiming for Udaipur but we'll see what happens.
Was going to head West to see the Salt Desert but just missed the early festival so will probably head north instead and overshoot Jaisalmer, then circle back for the finish line.
Ended up in a ditch for awhile today thanks to an overly curious cow.
Ended up replacing the entire axel this afternoon so called it a day just north of Pune. Up at 6am tomorrow to aim for 400km and getting mostly back on schedule!
After 5 hours of driving (and only making it 40km) finally found a place that has the axel cover I need - not carb, they both just make terrible noises. About 200km behind schedule though so fingers crossed nothing else breaks.
Ended up staying on the beach last night with some other rickshaws so got a late start this morning. Hoping to do a full 12 hours driving tomorrow but probably have to replace some parts of the carburetor so that might take some time.
Hi, I'm Max! I guess I'm going to ride a rickshaw. This seemed like a good idea at the time.
