MC - The Unicorns
In April 2016 as a participant at the legendary Rickshaw Run we (Magic, Macker and Mr. Lehmann) climbed into a ridiculously under-motorized Rickshaw and mastered the adventurous slopes from Jaisalmer to Shillong. It was hot, dusty, exciting .. the roads were murderous... but the people and the beautiful landscape were worth it! Thanks to your help, we have more than 10,000 euros in donations for the reconstruction project of Govinda e.V. - projects in Nepal.
and now, 1 year later??? It tickles us in the hands...we miss the smell of a two-stroke engine and the random go-go horns.
Therefore, we will participate in the first official Monkey Run in Peru and have founded the Motorcycle Club - The Unicorns. This time we will cross the Andes mountains from Ayacucho to Atalaya by a Monkey Bike - a motorcycle that has just the right size for a 5 year old kid.
OceanCare has been committed to marine wildlife protection since 1989. We have witnessed dramatic developments – and have enforced concrete improvements. Through research and conservation projects, campaigns, environmental education, and involvement in a range of important international committees, OceanCare undertakes concrete steps to improve the situation for wildlife in the world’s oceans. In 2011, OceanCare was granted Special Consultative Status on marine issues with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. Up to now, it is largely unknown that every year in Peru up to 15,000 dolphins suffer an excruciating death. In spite of a hunting ban, local fishermen keep harpooning the marine mammals to use their flesh as shark bait. The massacre is taking place at sea – concealed from the eyes of the public.
Cool Earth is the charity that works alongside indigenous villages to halt rainforest destruction. Half of the world’s rainforest has been destroyed in the last 40 years. And, contrary to the headlines, rainforest continues to be lost at a faster rate than ever.
