Cuzco, Peru
500 meters from finish line, wrong turning, smash chain on rock and have to spend an hour replacing it. Finally have beer in hand and never driving a mototaxi again.

Limatambo, Peru
Hit some nasty weather over a pass this morning driving through and over some moody clouds, plus some freezing fog and rain. Lost feeling in all fingers. Now only 80km from the finish but stopped for a rest because the bike is overheating as the day gets more & more scorchio...
Abancay, Peru
mountain top egg, chips and rice for breakfast. Bike a hell of a lot better than when we stopped yesterday so Cusco for afternoon beers!
Abancay, Peru
The appeal of a late leisurely lunch, some sunshine and beers beat the draw of another night drive over the mountains. More time seeing outside of a city is a bonus. Getting flight home Monday dependant on moto behaving!
Andahuaylas District, Peru
Road works, icy mountain tops, slightly frozen fingers, epic off-road tracks, beef and chips, rattled testicles, scorching sun, Inka Cola and a hectic 4 hour night drive up a lonely mountain saw us into Andehuaylas after our longest day so far. Mototaxi sounds like a 17 piece band playing a full symphony enthusiastically smacking saucepans and tin cans against a rickety metal fence. Might make it to the finish tomorrow. Or we may break down after ten minutes, difficult to tell.
Ayacucho, Peru
first hot shower in 12 days, awesome. Going cold after putting on shampoo, not so awesome.
Huancayo, Peru
On our way to Ayacucho. Slowly. Uphill. Mostly in 1st gear. Got lost on the way out of town. It's very cold. Having a most excellent adventure.
Huancayo, Peru
Spent all morning with the 4th mechanic attempting to fix the same problem, plus a thorough clean and tune up and a new thingy for the whatsit and we're hoping the old girl finally gets her cahunas back for the gigantic mountain roads ahead. Got 3.5 days to reach Cuzco, Raul our mechanic says it'll take us at least a week...@
Huancayo, Peru
1am, made it to Huancayo on back of truck. Need to replace the cylinder. Hopefully get that done tomorrow and then start the home straight (which are some hills called The Andies).@
Huánuco Region, Peru
