Last push for rickshaws but not for my butt

Its morning on the day of what with luck will get us into Cochin .

We don't plan to check in at the finish just to make out hotel and chill . Then we can have a stupid boys race 1 mile to the finish tomorrow

On a personal note I am glad to announce the shits have fully returned and my star is once again operating like a rusty tap with air locks

Taj hotels rule

Made it to kozikode , the run into kochi looks good for Friday

We won't go for finish line just head to our prebooked hotel where we can again regroup , and get massage as bouncing across India has taken its toll

The fire engine boys have not yet made it this far but hopefully are on the move

The restaurant here does continental food which is awesome as I don't think my gut could take another curried anything

Got own room again tonight so no snoring from nurse Nelson, then I am with him last 2 nights so want to get plenty of sleep

Small mishaps and big ones too

Fire engine has broken down about 30 miles behind us on what is a really hot and humid day

Ambulance is showing battle scars as roof bars are breaking one by one , exhaust snapped off at tail pipe

Back later

We can start to smell victory

Second Wednesday

we have left the comfort of Goa and are heading south , if all goes to plan we only need to do about 250 KM per day

First blasted down to Gokana which is full of temples and religious types , and apparently loads transvestism ( is that a word ? ) , had a poke about and melted in the heat so decided to get back on the road

Road down was actually pretty interesting if you are a digger and construction nerd like me , if your not then it's just a hundred and twenty miles of poxy road works

In Goa thank fook

Second Tuesday . 11 th April still in goa

We are still at our nice villa near Palolem beach

Not sure if I already posted about this day but here us a recap

Brekki on sunbeds served by our lovely house maids who could not try any harder to be helpful.

Dr Baz wrote a poem for the lads , which just goes to show what I might be able to do given some time owf

Then spent a couple of hours doing running repairs to the tuk tuks , all silly things but should avoid those niggling breakdowns that seem to always occur in midday sun with no shade ... v unsociable.

Then off for lunch at beach and some swimming, then few bevies ... usual lads stuff.

Fez and I swerved late diner as it's hard to eat again when your guts are like a concrete mixer , back to villa and watched a snide DVD that we brought on the beach for 80p ( Lion ... good movie if you have ever been to India .. if not then it's crap !! )

Off to bed for 30 minutes before nurse Nelson's snoring drove me to sleep in the lounge

Day off at last , beach , lunch and diner and booze

Surat to goa

India wifi is really poor it's a struggle to get the blog posts out some I am doing lots from memory so please excuse if it's a bit jumbled , and I am typing from the back of a rickshaw on Indian roads = not easy

So fire engine finished the day well ahead on what appears to be the best hotel so far

We were in Surat drinking nearly cold beers in a dive bar called Bubbles whilst fire brigade were waited on hand and foot by thier in suite butler.... tossers!!

Got a long schlep to Goa so early start tomorrow

Finished the evening with a very pleasant vegotarian curry and my usual liquid spray poo

Heading south

So we start the day with a two day goal of Goa

We manage to stay lovely in a group using google maps we can always see where each other are

Nelson and I are taking turns to drive a day at a time so I can Lounge quite comfortably accross the back seats perched on various pillows stolen from various hotels . Snoozing makes the journey more palletable

The Rickshaws are all going fairly well with the fire engine shaw being the runt of the crop

Still eating curries for every meal and still only able to pass liquid ... who knows where all the solids went ?

Took a mountain pass road where it got so steep we had get out and push the tuk tuks along. This route finding mistake cost is dear as the slower fire engine chose the main road and made great ground

Fire engine made to the correct hotel ... rest of us not so much .

So amok day but now we have a massive push for Goa

Day after the previous day

Slum tour done and burst out of Mumbai just after lunch and heading south to alibag , Mumbai is still a shit hole

Got our first police fine for dangerous driving today , paid the £4 and shared some biscuits , then had to pose for selfies

Alibag hotel is a fantastic resort , sadly for me sunstroke and deli belly confine me to my room shivering beneath the covers as I sweat myself to sleep

Liquid poops are now the new norm and at least are fast and loose ... splash and dash

Rickshaws all experiencing minor hickups which slow progress but we are focused on goa where we will get 2 days off and time to regroup

Morale is still boyant and the practical joking is getting serious as we all try to out do one another ![Uploading file...]()![Uploading file...]()
