Arvaikheer, Mongolia
After 3 river crossings 2 nights camping and a few hundred km of rough sandy terrain we are only 400km from the finish line and hit tarmac today. Happy days! Car is kind of breaking but only one day to go! :-). NM
Bayanhongor, Mongolia
making good progress towards the finish. Desert driving is fun! Only around 200km from tarmac now. Hoping for finish line tomorrow :-). NM
Altay, China
camped overnight there is bad weather and rally style roads but made it to Altai. Hope to get to finish on Weds or thurs. Have 700 or 800 miles left! No shower for a week now! NM
Hovd, Mongolia
finally got Genghis sorted an changed flights to the 4th sept. Weather has picked up so we are hopeful to make it to Altai today or tomorrow. We also have the best convoy ever!! :-). NM
Hovd, Mongolia
Lots of rain is further hampering efforts to get back in time for flights. Car in mechanics again and we are running out of time. May need to amend flights in order to get back safely. Rivers and dirt roads may be unpassable in places. Annoying but still an adventure!
Bayan Olgii, Mongolia
had the best night raving with the Mongolian Kazakh family last night. In a convoy of 5 rally cars and 2 bikes to Khovt today. Making better speed than expected :-). NM
Bayan Olgii, Mongolia
finally in Mongolia after camping inside the border for one night and a 30 hour border crossing. Staying with Mongolian family tonight and pushing for Olgly and beyond tomorrow NM
Republic of Altai, Russian Federation
waiting at the border to cross into Mongolia its taking ages. Have met other teams here but may not have phone signal for next 5 or so days until the finish line! NM
Republic of Altai, Russian Federation
stopped in a random motel last night about 130k from the mongolia border now so its nearly the final countdown
Variety is the spice of life and therefore I love to try new things and go on such crazy challenges!
Bring on the Mongol Rally! :-)
