The Cork -the mad tuk tuk driver on board. Worldly spotted with her patched up backpack, and caught eating snake hearts or anything that captures her eye, The Cork has a couple adventures under her belt. Lastly stuck at Russian customs and sent to Siberian gulags, by almost way of North Korea (!), The Cork is now looking forward to warmer lands. Her motocycling skills were hardly tested over red dusted Cambodian back country roads; her patience forged over Indonesian transportation mayhem; her stomach burnt by Chinese hot pot and her tastebuds tested by the deadly japanese puffer fish! The Cork fears only boredom!
Jess Watt got her start in photography getting kicked in the head at a concert while shooting for a national magazine back in the late 1990s. Since then she has shot every artist from Paul McCartney, Jovanotti, U2, Aretha Franklin, to Peaches, Nine Inch Nails, Loretta Lynn and The Prodigy. Her work has appeared in a variety of national publications, including the CBC.
When not shooting concerts, Jess continues to pursue her goal of experiencing every country through the lens of a camera. This has taken her sailing in the Caribbean, eating her way through Italy, backpacking Central America, losing a passport in Southeast Asia, volunteering in India, floating down the Yangtze river in China, sampling homemade vodka in the Gobi desert, daylight skinny-dipping in Siberia and being sent to Vladivostok, among other places. She has most recently returned from Japan, where she captured the life of geisha girls and sumo wrestlers. Not to mention, she also sampled one of the world’s most poisonous fish, fugu, to which she replied, “its kinda bland, no?”
