Hello everyone,
As a very late entrant into the race I'm trying to make up for lost time through super-human organisational and training efforts over the next three weeks... more hare than tortoise... but we shall see...!
My background is working as a junior doctor in the North London area and I will be starting to specialise in paediatrics in September 2011.
The Mongol Derby appeals firstly as an equine event, being a very keen and regular rider and competitor until work became prohibitively dominant in my life. Secondly as an extreme sporting challenge! From skiing in war zones, battling Atlantic waves in yacht races, surfing the Pacific (or freezing North!) seas to olympic distance triathlons closer to home, the tougher the challenge and greater the adventure the keener I am to get involved!
