Got the place to ourselves 😊
Fingers crossed for some wildlife sightings from our bungalow tomorrow morning. Not fussy, crocs, elephants, leopards, squirrels, we want to see it all!
Dinner is almost ready and then it's off to bed for our final day of the race tomorrow. The only deadline we (I) have set along the way is to be in Talalla in time to watch the ABs play Ireland.
Elephants and temples
Pit stop for a bit of TLC before we do our own safari mission through Yala National Park. The steering has been a bit marginal since we smashed through a few unexpected potholes early on. They told us to go slow hahahahahahahahahahahaha
After a leech ordeal, getting stuck on a thin mud track to no where and needing a local to bail us out....breakfast is looking good in Ella 👌
After cruising through about 15 police check points we finally got pulled over. While Eloise handled the questions I ducked off to the loo 🤣 Being the champ that she is she handled the cops like a boss. We compared licences, had a laugh that we were all 80s babies, deflected questions about why we aren't married, took a selfie and hit the road.
This tube is proper poked, new rubber here we go. The next leg of our mission is to Ella, about 5hrs of chaos to come
Flat tyre attack! We were excited to get our mechanicing skills out....however, young Saumba was there within 2mins to help the damsels. Police man checked in also. We were away within 4minutes!
Quite happy settling in at Batticaloa 👌Currently on the east coast. Bats flying above, eagles and fisherman in the lagoon 👌 yeoooow, not bad!!
Some Kiwi birds that do fly....across oceans, sometimes up trees and on tuk tuks
