Out of Africa…. Out for adventure… Out of our minds…

Justine, Noleen and Moira are about to find out if Incredible India is more of a survival challenge than our homeland Africa. On the road that is.

We're driving a tin wreck of a 145cc auto rickshaw -- yes, a tuk tuk -- with three shopping cart wheels more than 3,500 km across India. Starting in the wettest city in the world, Shillong, near Burma, our journey will take us to the hills of Darjeeling, through tiger territory in Bengal, past the beautiful beaches of the east coast and across the spice trails to Cochin. If the rickshaw has not fallen apart and we have not fallen out, the voyage should be completed in two and a bit weeks.
Are we insane…. Yes. But it's also for a good cause. We're raising cash.
1. First off is Cool Earth which works with villages to save rainforests in the Amazon and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
2. We've also chosen India's Sulabh which builds toilets. Not only is this helping "untouchables" who clean human waste but it also stops women having to use isolated and risky outdoor areas.
Please give generously and support our efforts. Every cent goes to the projects - not for team chai funds.

Please also follow our absurd adventure and share our experiences on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Out-Of-Africa-Rickshaw-Run/1443299692642183.
There'll be pictures, video clips and updates -- but also close comparisons on pot-holes, truck-stop drinking dens, getting lost, and places of varying ramshackle-ness to bed down in these two astonishing and culturally rich regions.
