Another Monkey Run update - get ready for frequent updates as things are getting more and more real
First of all – the team would like to say a big Thank You to our awesome team sponsors [CareerBuilder.se](http://www.careerbuilder.se) and [Åre Skidfabrik](http://www.areskidfabrik.se), your support is much appreciated!
We have now set up our donations page for the charity part of this mad hoopla and we would of course love your support. Cool Earth, the charity, are doing great things for the rain forest so if you enjoy watching 35 year old men getting sand in their pants – feel free to also chip in with a few shekels. Shukraan!
The countdown has begun – what did we get ourselves into?
Alright, here it goes. In less than 2 months from now; myself and my two team mates Anders and Tobbe are embarking on the kind of trip/joyride/adventure that makes you start soul searching and think: “Am I ok? Is this what they call a midlife crisis? What the heck did I just sign up for, and most of all… why?” At the same time you put your palm on your forehead to check for a fever, because clearly, there must be something wrong either physically or mentally. Probably the latter.
So, what are we doing then?
Well, we are leaving our comfortable city lives to spend 7 days on rickety, old 50cc monkey bikes (shitty and slow mini-motorcycles, basically), driving through the Western Sahara desert. We’ve must have had a serious lapse of judgement when we signed up for ‘The Adventurists – Adventure #10’ a few months ago, but it is happening.
As of right now, we are not necessarily sure what our starting point is or where the finish line is located. All we know is that we are flying to somewhere in Morocco and that it is going to be uncomfortable, dirty, sweaty, painstaking… and hopefully a crazy fun adventure at the same time. At the end of the 7 days, we are hoping to also cross the finish line somewhere in Morocco. Or thereabouts. We also know that the race is for a good cause as all teams partaking in this insanity, including Team He-man Hunters (that’s us), will raise money for charity to save the planet. More specifically, save the rainforest.
When we know more, you know more
With only a few months to go, it’s time to start our preparations and we figured it would be fun if you would sort of join us for the ride, a least in spirit, so we'll be updating this page and our team website www.hemanhunters.se on how we get on.
Oh and before you know it we’ll be starting our obnoxious charity fund raising, so save your SEK, $, £, € change from your next grocery run, because we’re coming for it.
Seriously though – holy crap this is going to be a fun, crazy adventure and we look forward to bring you along for the ride.
Until next time: Stay gold, Ponyboy!
