To Infinity and beyond!
Four flat tires, a broken alternator and no fuel, stranded in the empty Mongolian Steppe with no one to help you might not sound like fun for most people... after all, the Mongol Rally is far from being a “vacation.” In fact, this yearly event, hosted by “The Adventurists” is a charity fundraising challenge with absolutely no support, no backup and is simply a bunch of crazy souls determined to drive from London (UK) to Ula’an Ude (Russia) via Mongolia. The catch? You must complete this 10,000 mile car rally across 20-summod countries in a 1-liter engine car. (As seen above.) Police bribes, surviving border crossings and in Krystal Kelly’s case, crossing the Caspian sea from Azerbaijan into Turkmenistan via a rickety ferry boat will be just some of the highlights this summer. Team Named: The Pink Millenium Falcon, Carol Lux will be joining Krystal as the co-pilot for this daring adventure. Krystal and Carol met in Cambodia and already have experience attempting to escape the local police, which they “almost” got away with (darn blonde hairs...) and are looking forward to raising money this year for the Malala Fund as well as Cool Earth.
