Bleeding and broken... Here are our plans A) change spark plug B) push rickshaw to next village C) push rickshaw with someones foot who is driving another rickshaw D) mechanic is out for lunch E) mechanic only fixes diesel engines F) a group of 25 men try to fix rickshaw G) towed 30k H) found a mechanic! I) don't have the right part J) stay at weird hotel where mo sleeps with our passports, money and a pen knife to stab anyone who attacks me K) the part comes but the test drive breaks it L) towed in the dark to next town 50k the towing bends rickshaw M) mechanic replaces same part but its broken N) they make a new part out of paper O) the part breaks P) the engine is dismantled Q) the broken parts are taken to the next town R) the new parts arrive at 23:00 S) we pay the mechanic to work over night T) test drive is successful! And we are off.... Driving at max 35kph x

yesterday best day yet. Got lost in beautiful rural India. Ran from the police twice (which involved a slight collision with a barrier). Joined a dancing funeral. Looking for a bird sanctuary we found an ashram where children perform Hindu ceremonies, shared dinner with them and drove off into the night...

Second day, 14hrs driving, 2000 honks and two crashes later we have arrived in trichy. Funny things seen today-people going the wrong way down the motorway, a moustache, man walking ducks, me stalling in the middle of a busy junction, a man giving us a bar of snickers and wishing us happy easter, lots of people trying to help drive/park the rickshaw, friends being towed by the police, someone blowing on our broken down rickshaw and it working, basically the rickshaw is chaos personified. We have been overwhelemed by the kindness and sense of humour the people have here. Motorbikes have lead up through cities to help up on our way, and because we have no gps the 'ask as you go along' approach seems to be working. The passenger jumps out with the map and says the name of next place in at least 5 different accents. Any how india is treating up well. The soundsystem is pumping out the new smash hits bangra and the food continues to be delicious. Love you all, thank you all for donating x anna (which means elephant in the local language)
