We made it!!!

After approx 2,800kms and 13 days, at around 2pm this afternoon Ricky pulled into the finish line in Shillong!

An epic journey across the sub continent and we have made it in one piece...

"But why would you want to go there when you can go to Bonnie Doon?"

"Its the culture dad, the place is full of culture"

"Yeah it's chockers"

Bongaigaon

Heading out of town this morning Ricky is giving us some more issues...(which a simple change of spark plug no longer seems to fix!)

We're back at a local mechanics now, and he seems to be checking the fuel lines. Not enough fuel getting to the engine.

Has held us up a bit but we have some time up our sleeve and hopefully will be back on the road soon!

C'mon Ricky you can do it

Ricky struggled today!

Didn't appreciate the steep descent out of Darjeeling...started to lose all power...cleaning the spark plug seemed to get us another few km's before stuttering again...eventually we rolled into the small town of Sevoke and now we have a set of new spark plugs which we're hoping will get us to Shillong over the next few days!

Not quite...

We may have underestimated the mountains of West Bengal...didn't quite make it to darjeeling.

Ricky puttered along up the hills, for the steep parts the two passengers had to jump out to reduce the weight so Ricky could keep going!

Arrived in Kurseong about 30kms away and will do the last legs to darjeeling in the morning.

Currently at 1,500m above sea level with another 500m to climb!

Josh

Captain Josh presents one of the more interesting choices from the selectors. With no apparent knowledge of the game of cricket and the only member of the squad to have accidentally pulled a wheelie on a tractor, he is odds-on to be the most ill-suited to the journey. However, the selectors must have seen something in him other than just a willingness to be present. The jury is out on this one.
