relatively easy border crossing that took under 2 hours & cost nothing.Almaty is a large modern city with mountains in the background.Very nice!

day22 5k miles.Crossed desert country of Turkmen.Extreme heat nearing 50 degrees.Easy & free crossing into uzbek for a change.Still hot but very nice.

made it to turkmen. Ashgabat looks great. Just seeing girls again after 5days of ghosts is Fantittytastic. The dreaded border guards waved me through in 5mins and gave me beer. While Andy got full treatment and fleeced $140 Drink!!!!

finally made it through the iranian border 8 hours later ( inc. Sleep) and $160 lighter for the carnet. Pretty good considering no car documents!
