View could be better
For half an hour now we are driving by one marble seller after the other. Big marble quarries here. ![file](//uploaded-files.theadventurists.com/images/blog/d5fa908e615d44ebbc47669c3ffa1fb142c25104.jpeg)

Enjoying the morning in Udaipur
After visiting the City Palace (mostly going up and down the stairs from one room to the next with some fantastic views) Carole and Thierry did the boat tour while the others went shopping for some fancy souvenirs. ![file](//uploaded-files.theadventurists.com/images/blog/3c3742cdc8f11b9318a309826e93cd043e318faa.jpeg)
Made it to Udaipur... after fixing the Rickshaws
Todays amount of driving did take its toll. After fixing the Carburator and the roofrack we continued to have issues with a loose fuel pipe resulting in us stalling inthe middle of traffic and leaving puddles of fuel (a little awkward in front of the cops). We fixed it finally around noon with some zip-tieing. Buthis wasn't the last of todays troubles. Shortly before Sunset the spark plug broke as well and we had to do some replacing.
Sunset driving in Rajasthan
Landscape is definitely getting more desert like than before. Nice to drive by fields of palms and cacti and mountains in the back while enjoying the sunset! Note: just got offered tea and cigarettes while driving 60. Quite some service here on the Highway!
New plan: Udaipur!
Still 82 km to go but we are positive to reach Udaipur tonight. Old plan was actually to spend the night in Kherwara. Lots of teams already in Udaipur thus we are keen to meet up with them!
Temple visit in Gandhaginar
Today on the program: visit of the Akshardham temple in Gandhinagar, also known as the much prettier place then the state capital Ahmedabad and therefore housing all politicians. The temple completely built out of sandstone without any steel opened in 1992 and is a tribute to a fourth successor of another, quite holy yogi. Anyway, they did a great job even though we suspect it is some cult..

Licence to...
...drink! The state of Gujarat is a dry state (= prohibition) and only foreigners are permitted to buy alcohol - if they have the licence. Well, we have one now, including a stamp in the passport: ![file](//uploaded-files.theadventurists.com/images/blog/6238845f249bf5bd12bf26724ed53615850b3003.jpeg)
On the expressway
First time on the expressway. Not sure if Rickshaws are allowed (none seen so far) but Thierry just claimed his own track. PS: Just got yelled at by the road officers... and now we have to drive back ;-) ![file](//uploaded-files.theadventurists.com/images/blog/ba19c3456f963355d35edfdd68f73e7c1ae17d36.jpeg)
