Bruges
"If I grew up on a farm, and was retarded, Bruges might impress me, but I didn't so it doesn't." *In Bruges - 2008*
At least they have good beer!

5 days to go
5 Days to go until the Mongol Rally sets off from London.
The final packing is happening - tents, maps, trackers, bikinis & hijabs, clip on koalas, glitter, wet wipes, jerry cans and socket sets.
Our trusty steed Wally is having some final mods made at the mechanic after having a good service - a few spare tyres, a sump guard and some spotlights.
Sadly Claire's difference of opinion with UK Border Force has not been resolved so she will not make the start line. Claire will be leaving Australia on Thursday afternoon and heading to Bruges for a few beers before joining Casey in Calais and is yet to find out what penalty Casey might dish out in return for all her hard work getting Wally ready. Hopefully Casey will be able to give us some great stories from Goodwood and the ferry.
On visas - after three visits to the Russian Embassy yesterday Claire will be picking up her Russian visa tomorrow morning (just in time). This leaves just Turkmenistan and Iran to get on the road which is a pretty good result considering how little time we had to apply.
Keep an eye on the blog for updates along the way! We have a Spot tracker which should start showing updates once we are on the road.
So excited!
