We hit Austria last night at about 9.30pm, so today has us travelling through some beautiful hills towards Budapest.

So we made it to Germany yesterday, but just after the border Mog 1 fuel line started playing up and a local Polish man stopped to help tow us to a layby off the autobahn (motorway). 5 minutes later Mog 2 had a thrust bearing break!!! 

Jerry - our new polish friend then went and towed them to Grefrath where we met up and camped in a park area for the night, having dinner and a few beers that Jerry also bought for us!!

So today we have towed Mog 2 with Mog 1 to a local garage where the men attempt to fix both issues!! - silver lining: it's not raining!

Day 1

And we are officially off!!!

We have done our lap of Goodwood Motor Circuit, for which we were placed on the very front row of cars!! It was brilliant, 300+ teams just racing around the circuit before heading off towards Dover ferry port.

We were also awarded the "Spirit of the Rally award by The Adventurists. This is to say we got what the rally was about, and I am so pleased and proud of it!!

So Yeah, we are cruising down the A23 about 70 miles from Dover, see you on the other side!

Leaving Mansfield

So we left Mansfield about 4 hours ago....halfway to Nottingham to fetch our last minute international driving permits and Carla and Dom realise they have forgot their MOT certificate (LOL)!

We have out permits now and are making our way towards the M1.....Goodwood bound!!!

Just sat in the living room, the morning after our "sign up party", I can't believe it's actually happening.

After weeks of discussions and reading about The Mongol Rally, the T&C's, looking at maps, watching previous teams videos, reading blogs, we have finally signed up!

We (Chloe, Geoff and Dom), are going to be traveling 10,000 miles across the world, through 20+ countries, raising money for charity, just the 3 of us in a 1 litre car.

OH MY GOODNESS!! I CANNOT WAIT!!
