Tighten yer nuts!

Hi all, Been a rather interesting time over the Pamir Highway. We got to the beautiful lake just 80k short of the border to Kyrgyzstan & our exhaust fell off which we thought was rather funny but 5 mins later our front right wheel decided it had had enough of the car & left us whilst going over 50kph. We came to a screeching stop with sparks flying as the brake disk took the brunt of it. A lovely family from a homestay at the next village (Karakol) came to the rescue. Very amusing watching 2 so called mechanics trying to saw off the wheel bolts with a solar power saw. I kid you not! After 1.5 days of humming & ha'ing the car was finally ready to go. Their last words to me were "Remember to tighten your wheel nuts" LMAO

Tired & emotional.

The above says it all really. We have hit the capital of Georgia, Tiblisi. My trooper of a wife is in bed sleeping & I'm of on bit of a recon. Tiblisi is breathtakingly stunning but you can tell there is an underlying seediness about the place. Large gambling halls & prostitution knocking around. Life is extremely cheap out here so I'm thinking of moving here. 4 large beers & 2 shots with crisps & nuts £4 Decent main courses for around the £3 mark. Lovely. Fuel is £0.57p a litre The weather has chilled a lot since Turkey which I find rather strange as we are heading towards the Equator. Knackered & signing out. X

We are driving Miss Daisy ( a 2003 peugeot 2006) to Mongolia. Nothing but a Haynes manual to get us out of trouble. It's hotter than hell in Central Asia in August.
