WE MADE IT!!

So after 12 days TEAM JAWS have made it!! They signed in as the 4th team to finish - which is pretty impressive indeed!

Now as their reward they get to relax in Kerala, indulging in fine sea food and beer (if they can find a decent bar).

They are over the moon and pleased to be free of thir faithful Rickshaw and the constant driving!!

I'm sure TEAM JAWS will get interactive this week and fill you in a bit more on their incredible adventure!

Thank you all for your amazing support!!!!!!

Got to Goa!!

Hurray, Hurray its a holi-holi-day!!

Well not quite, but today TEAM JAWS have reached Goa where they plan to have a day off from the confines of the rickshaw and instead make the most of the beachy, tropical haven that people say Goa is. Hopefully TEAM JAWS will find an internet connection and fill you in on their beautiful surroundings tomorrow!!!

Day 7 was a 450km slog that ended in paradise.... here is Hooper's spin on events:

"So we reached Goa after a mammoth 450km drive today! Had our first fault today, our exhaust fell off and is somewhere in the mountains!? But it is true anyone can fix it...out of nowhere someone appeared with a new exhaust and fitted it! Crazy! Now a day on the beach!"

Stay tuned for Day 8 updates which will probably involve beer and beaches....!! Lucky ducks!

DAY 3 DONE!!

DAY 3 - A quick yet update from a tired TEAM JAWS:

"So day 3 and the endless days of driving and change is taking its toll! TEAM JAWS is fatigued but hopefully as we are booked in to our first real hotel of the journey tonight we should be back to fighting fitness! Today went with no real issues apart from a phone recharging fiasco... not sure if we are getting our point across clearly?! But we have now entered Gujarat and had our bags searched at the border as this is a dry state but we were fine! The scenery is changing by the minute, the further we go south the greener and seemingly more money too!! Lets hope tomorrow has more of the same..."

TEAM JAWS can almost smell the coast....so not long till they reach mumbai and beyond. Come back for more updates soon....

With no preparation and less luggage one flies to the Indian Subcontinent and does one's damndest to force 150cc of Indian engineering over thousands of miles of questionable terrain in around two weeks.

Upon arrival we pause briefly for a game of cricket followed by tea and cakes before revving our engines and setting off. We stop only to wet our whistles on the occasional gin and tonic at specially selected refreshment points.

The Route
The route of the mighty Rickshaw Run changes every time to make sure it remains a challenge. Once we get the odd team surviving one route we'll move it to somewhere harder. Huge mountains, dirt tracks, tropical jungle, monsoons are just some of the things we seek out to make sure you get some real adventure.

We vaguely plan the routes to take two weeks but don't blame us if it takes you two years and half a limb. We don't have specific route plans because it's an adventure. You want to get stuck in with the maps and figure out where you want to go, not let us take you on a guided tour.

Have a gander at the un-route page for details.

The Machines
Three wheels, half a horse power and more fun than any other vehicle on planet earth the humble Rickshaw is undoubtedly the ultimate long distance, off road machine, despite being designed for short distances on road. Marvel at our rickshaw page for more details.

The Charity
The Rickshaw Run is all about raising huge amounts of wedge for a great cause The Frank water Project

$parse[justgivingwidget_2471686]

The Backup!? - There is none you fools

Support? Of course we don't provide any support. The Rickshaw Run is supposed to be an adventure. What sort of adventure would you have if we were following you in a truck with spare parts and a comfy bed. No, no we must get out there into the world and get stuck in. When you're stuck, lost, and up a certain creek without a rowing implement is when you start to have fun - and the last thing we want to do is stop you having fun! If you want a full support crew there's a very nice place called Butlins based in Bognor Regis.
