So you can't be there on Thursday to party for a good cause or you think that 4€ just isn't enough? No problem, we have just the right solution for you.

The website JustGiving.com lets you donate money for our cause with simply a couple of clicks. You can find our fundraising campaign under: [http://www.justgiving.com/Niklas-Ewert](http://www.justgiving.com/Niklas-Ewert) At the moment we are still far away from our aspired minimum amount of 1000£. So we can only encourage you to have a heart for the Mongolian kids and donate some money to our cause. And even if it's only a couple of bucks. Each donation is highly appreciated. Let's try to make the world a little bit better today.

The Mongol Rally is not only about thrill seeking and ill conceived adventures. It is also about doing it for a good cause. This is why each team is being encouraged to raise as much funds as possible for charity organizations in Mongolia. Our team is trying to raise money for the Christina Noble Children's Foundation which gives a home to Mongolian kids that have lost their parents. That is why we are throwing a charity party to raise as much money as possible. So here is where you should be on Thursday: Where: Sophie's Danceclub Bayreuth When: Thursday, 21st July Admission: 4

Getting stuck, lost and in trouble, then finding your way out armed with just your wits and the sock and apricots.
It's about setting forth to tackle 1/3 of the surface of the Earth; unprepared, ill-advised and with no idea of what might happen. What you generally find is a whole giant shit heap of adventure.
10,000 miles of pure adventure over mountains, deserts and some of the most remote, challenging terrain on the planet. All in a tiny car designed for doing the weekly shop.

What can you expect of this blog?
We will post photos, videos and blog entries about the Mongol Rally and the people we encounter during our trip.
We will also be shooting an entire one-hour documentary about our adventures. When we speak of social, we are talking about the encounter of different cultures, societies and individuals, but also the means to see and understand oneself in the context of the surrounding environment.
Documentaries proclaim authenticity and are very often linked to an unaltered reality. Authenticity as an objectively pure recreation of our world will, however, never be possible. We believe that by making the filmmaker and the filmmaking process a part of the documentary, the audience is given the fairest chance to reflect on the content of the presented reality. We do not want to fool the audience into believing that what is being shown is a visual representation of reality, but instead a reconstruction based on fractions of that reality.
We believe that the individuals we meet on our trip will be socialized in one way or another. These individuals however represent only a fragment of the society they belong to and do not allow the filmmaker to draw a general conclusion about the portrayed cultures and their values. We believe nonetheless that film is the most effective way to represent cultural notions and to raise an understanding for the portrayed culture. The interviews with the individuals that we meet on our trip will help the audience to gain a better understanding for their lives, values and believes.

We hope you will enjoy reading about our adventures and endeavors.
