Committed to the Cause!!!
![whitters_tat](ulimages/userstore/35301/whitters_tat.jpg "whitters_tat")Â Â Ever dedicated to the cause, Mark has been the first person to man-up and have The Bugler's emblem tattooed for charity. The fateful day was 5th May 2010; the sun was out but there was not much colour in whitter's face as at 1100 he was booked in to have his team charity tattoo branded on his side. . . . one hour after disappearing behind the scenes Mark emerged with a grin from ear to ear . . . and a bit of a limp!!! All I can say is 'Great commitment mate' . . . . can't wait for mine on 4th June!!!
Â
The Mongolian Death Worm!!!!
![mongolian_death_worm](ulimages/userstore/35301/mongolian_death_worm.jpg "mongolian_death_worm")Â Â
Now I know when I signed up for The Mongol Rally we would be driving through some very barren and corrupt areas of the world; evading Bandits, Sand Pirates and local Police will become our staple diet!! But Mongolian Death Worms!!!! they certainly were not on the menu. This creature inhabits the Gobi desert and remains a mythological beast who's sightings and existence remain shrouded in mystery.Â
Â
It is described as a bright red worm with a wide body that is 0.6 to 1.5 metres long, that's between 2 & 5 feet!!! This beast, known to the locals as 'Allghoi' (blood filled intestine worm), supposedly burrows through the sand and upon identifying a suitable prey will jump into air spewing sulphuric acid on its victims!!! Finally, its 'piece de resistance' is it long range attack where it can shoot lightening bolts from its rear!!! Awesome!!! For our own sakes I hope this is just a rumour that got out of hand after some Mongolians getting holding of a copy of Tremors, otherwise we may not be coming home!!     Â
