On the Rickshaw Run January 2018

Day 3: Udaipur to Vadodara

- Stopped in the middle of the highway by a group of policemen who peeked inside the ‘Shaw and then waved us away after a photo.

- Landslide had us stuck in between trucks & SUVs for a solid 20 minutes. We were the smallest vehicle there.

- Sewage truck tipped on the road, luckily it was in the opposite side.

- Local rickshaw driver so excited to see us that he hit a man, feet up in the air and arms flailing around, as he waved us goodbye.

- Had our first cup of buffalo milk chai (alongside Team Disney). Delicious!

- Quick stop at McDonald’s for some fries and a photo shoot. The crew were lovin it!

- Arrived in Vadodara safe & sound. Ready for bed and our first hot shower!

Nick

This year, Camila, Kelly & Nick will be taking part in the most dangerous/stupid/exciting race we have come across to date: The Rickshaw Run! Most will have no idea what this is. And if you do, you’ll know it’s something that should probably be avoided at all costs.

Let us paint a picture for you: Imagine driving 3,000kms in a 3 wheeled-car. Swap the wheels around, take the doors off their hinges, switch the engine with that of a lawnmower and you’re probably halfway there. Starting in Jaisalmer and (hopefully) ending in Kochi, we will be taking on the Indian roads in our “glorified lawnmower”.

There are only 2 certainties on this trip:
1. We will break down (a minimum of 10 times) & cry buckets of tears.
2. We'll be kicking ass & raising money for an amazing cause.

We promise we'll make it worth your while with some precious video evidence of just how insane we can be.

Cool Earth

Aside from the obvious adventure, we're also raising money for Cool Earth, an incredible NGO who's ultimate goal is to slow down the impact of climate change and protect our planet's rainforests. They work alongside indigenous villages and help these communities become self-sufficient by providing friendly alternatives to resist the pressure of giving into loggers. In other words, they ensure that villagers earn more from keeping the forest standing than they would otherwise earn from clearing it.

Men United

Men United raise money to raise awareness and help treat prostate cancer. I have seen what happens when you don’t act or get tested it is a treatable disease if caught early enough if I can make one person get checked then this mental trip would be worthwhile please don’t be ignorant towards it it’s only a blood test.
