made it back through Russia with only hours to spare before visa expired! Treating ourselves to a hotel tonight, sleeping in the car really isnt that pleasant. Dan flew home y.day for work, head gasket probs now but we should be ok. Thanks to Paul Inch for loading us up with spares! All fine, just very tired. Having first shower since leaving Mongolian capital 11 days ago, hope to be home by end of the week! @

The Janner Job have officially completed The Mongol Rally! (after a 12 hour minibus ride!) The Rat is currently piggy-backing its way to us on a rice lorry! Roads so crap we had to preserve the wheel studs and wheels for the journey home. Visa to sort, car to repair then home!@

so here we are, we made it to Mongolia! Amazing sense of achievement to get this far, only 1000 miles to the finish line! All night drive thurs to get thru border before wkend. Another set of tyres, electrical fire in car, smooth border cross, marmots, eagles, rippled roads, bent sumpguard, snapped engine mount, mountain pass the rat only just made it up!, camel wool socks, stayed with a Mongol family, upset stomach, UB here we come!@

3 days to drive 200 miles. Had so many probs. Brakes gone. Steering gone. Dan changed steering rack yday took 7 hours but cooler here so much more bearable. Tried fermented horse milk. We recommend it if u want to try anything once! Cheap hotel needed and found. On way to Barnaul. X
