Update from Day 3

*Tyler* - unfortunately we have found it difficult to keep our blog updated due to the lack of internet. We are now through with our third day of the rickshaw run and what a journey it has been so far. We have experienced so much in the last three days that we can hardly imagine there is anything left to see but as we have learned, India is full of surprises. Each day seems to get more and more exciting. One moment we are completely lost in some mountainous area and another we are racing around the treacherous roads of some random town looking for a place to sleep while hoping that our rickshaw doesn't breakdown. We have found ourselves in many uneasy situations but with each one we find more and more joy in the adventure.

It would take quite a while to write everything that has happened over the last three days and our internet availability is limited so that will have to wait but we are hoping to be able to post more frequently as we journey north to Jaisalmer. We are currently in a small costal city named Udupi which is about 250 km south of Goa. Our goal is to make it to Goa tomorrow for the pit-stop party where we hope to see some of the other teams and get in a surf session before going onward to Mumbai. ![Uploading file...]()![Uploading file...]()![Uploading file...]()![Uploading file...]()![Uploading file...]()![Uploading file...]()[gallery] Drag and drop images you wish to upload within these gallery tags. The Countdown

*Tyler* - We have been in Cochin for two days an we are starting to feel orientated in this chaotic place.

Our impressions of this place were similar as we traveled in a taxi from the airport to Fort Kochi. The population is dense, the trash is vast, the smells are unpleasant and the roads are mayhem. This may be off putting for some but not us. We were ready to dive in.

Sean and I went for an early morning stroll yesterday before Alec and his girlfriend Renee arrived. We walked through the town of Fort Kochi, along the beach and through the fish markets, which were disgusting from an objective viewpoint but also beautiful, profound and inspiring. ![Uploading file...]()![Uploading file...]()![Uploading file...]()![Uploading file...]()

After Alec arrived, we walked to the fairgrounds where the Rickshaw Run HQ is located. This was the first time we laid eyes on Mr. Wiggles, our three-wheeled, unreliable, impractical vehicle which we will use to traverse the length of India. ![Uploading file...]()

We are taking the next two days to put some last touches on our Rickshaw, purchase some authentic Indian shirts and Aladin pants, and to enjoy the luxury of a steady home with a working shower.

Time To Fly

*Tyler* - Today is the day. I've packed up my things, said my goodbyes and threw my work phone and computer into the back of th deepest drawer I could find.

I was on route to meet Sean so we could head to the airport but realized that I was about to go on a month long vegetable curry diet. I now find myself at the best place I know of to engage in some quality gluttony...In N Out. (If you have never had In N Out, it's like happiness in a bun. With cheese.)

Anyway, I am beyond excited. I miss the freedom of traveling without a plan...

Starting Up!

**Alec: ** I'm going to keep this blog super informal and fresh so people can really FEEL what is going through me right now.

As of this moment I've been on my computer sorting out Rickshaw stuff for about 2 hours. Its a little bit tedious but for all that I am PUMPED UP. I wonder what its going to even be like??

I am pretty sure that Sean doesn't know how to drive a motorcycle which means that him learning to drive the rickshaw, which is pretty much a motorcycle, is going to be like watching a pale baby deer learn to walk down stairs. :)

Now that I've done a little preparing, I'm just going to float the idea of team tattoos. I'm not saying that I'd be down to get one buuutttt if that started happening then I'd probably volunteer a buttcheek if we made our fundraising goal. And trust me, I have plenty of room on those canvases.

Our one and only team meeting should be taking place pretty soon and then it's off to the races!

Absolutely can't wait for this thing. I am going to smother everyone in gopro videos to keep the hype alive.

If any of my family and friends are reading this, thank you so much for supporting the adventure! And also thank you so much for donating to our campaign!
