Well it's been a crazy day here at Avengers' HQ! Fearless Leader has returned to LA and wasted no time foolishly embarking on her own, attempting to draw a route on to the team's website map. As per usual, technology has gotten the better of her and she's made a right mess of it and is now waiting to be bailed out by Tech Commander once he's out of the gym.
In other exciting news, we've recieved official approval from Rally HQ to donate funds in excess of the minimum 1000GBP to "The Brad Delp Foundation" (www.braddelpfoundation.org) and have also found that Mercy Corps has gotten on the ball and finally put up a Mongol Rally 2010 link on Firstgiving.com so we have been delighted to finally get our charity information in order, and are happy to announce that we are up and officially accepting donations!! Once the minimum 1000GBP has been raised, we will open up a second firstgiving page for the Brad Delp Foundation, and will be accepting donations on behalf of BOTH organizations for the remainder of the time! So balance your checkbooks, count your pennies, and help us raise some madd cash for some great organizations!Â
Our First Blog...
Yes, it's true, we've finally learned how to blog, and we couldn't be more proud of ourselves! We've been busy little bees for the past few weeks, pimping out the website (as you can see!), scouring Ebay for diesel cars less than 10 years old with an engine smaller than 1.2 litres (NOT an easy task!), and mapping out our route. Our "Fearless Leader" has made the trek across the country to meet with our "Communications Officer" in New England, and the pair have just completed the Avengers' first official newspaper interview! The word is spreading! Stay tuned to our site for what I guarantee will be a thrilling first bit of press in the weeks to come!Â

In just 10 short months, we will thunder forth from the UK, headed east in search of excitement, adventure, and some semblance of a road in the deserts of Mongolia. But that's not all...</font></p><p><font size="3"><font size="2">Never content to simply play by the rules, we're upping the ante in this game, making the 10,000 mile trek in a carbon neutral "greasecar" converted to run on pure vegetable oil, with the goal of obtaining 100% of our fuel from Waste Vegetable Oil collected from restaurants and fast food outfits along the way. With the state of our environment a monumental global concern, it is our goal to prove that adventure can be had, and it is possible to make your mark in the world, without leaving a footprint behind. </font></font></p><p><font size="2">Sounds crazy, you say? All the more reason to do it! We have mountains of preparations ahead of us, and a fortune to raise for some amazing charities, and we plan to keep you all posted every step of the way!
