The other half of The “Old Blues” Brothers, Paul has been married to Wendy for 26 years and together they have four children, Matt, Katie, Sophie and Lucy. They live in an Essex village on the Hertfordshire/Essex border and are proud to be part of an active and collaborative community.
An enthusiastic traveller Paul had thought that his days of “roughing it” had long since passed. He has absolutely no idea about how to put a tent up and the mechanics of a car engine are a mystery to him.
Despite this Paul can lay claim to a little motoring DNA floating around in his system. His father Adrian raced Formula 2 in the ’60s and was the owner/manager of the team that won the British Touring Car Championship in 1973 with Australian racing legend Frank Gardener at the wheel of a Chevrolet Camaro.
The 'Old Blues' Brothers - why the name?
Paul and Ian have been mates since their school days (many years ago) at Christ's Hospital, a charitable foundation school in Sussex. Ex-pupils of the school are known as 'Old Blues' and the Blues Brothers film is a story of two guys going on a road trip to raise money for kids - hence the name.
Paul is a company director and Ian is a doctor. Neither of them know the first thing about cars nor can they speak Russian, but both are determined to complete this challenge and to have a lot of fun along the way.
