Team The Jersey Boys

Nine days remain

To our loyal followers,

We are about to embark (in 9 days) on our crazy journey! Here's a few updates for you.

  1. We bought car insurance, so we can drive in Europe! (Asian insurance coming soon).

  2. Once on our journey, we will only be updating our Twitter and taking video. Twitter is easiest to update, and that way you don't have to read really long blog posts--just short little tidbits.

  3. Still working on accomodations. Right now, we're camping!

Hope to see you at our bowling party in one week (June 27).

Cheers,

Rich and Alex

One small step across the Atlantic

Hey all,

Looks like we've got tickets to London! Thanks to our friend Khalil (who can be found in our "I Bought a T-Shirt" section), we secured two one-way tickets from NYC to Iceland to London! Its a small step for the Rally, but a giant leap for our team. :)

Our tickets cost us only **$260 **each. That means we saved a combined $400, all thanks to a little tip from a friend. We're really thankful to Khalil, and you can be huge help if you have any similar information! In addition, Alex and I paid just $15****each (included in the ticket price above) to **offset 1700 pounds of CO2 emissions each for our flight**. As Alex will tell you, I'm a big fan of the environment, and this eco-friendly flight is really exciting!

That's all for now, but we will be contacting you very very soon regarding our most important fundraising push so far: a video contest at Washington College, Alex's school, that could net the Jersey Boys $8000 for the Christina Noble Children's Foundation and our trip. Stay tuned.

Cheers,

Rich

New video!

Hey there, Rich here. Just letting you know that we've released another promotional video. I know--three videos already! This new one's pretty great. Alex blogged about it on the day of filming; check out the last blog for his post.

Anyway, it's about five minutes, and we've interviewed random people in the Washington, DC area. It's pretty cool, so check it out: [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgYhiCE8X0](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgYhiCE8X0k).

As always, feel free to contact Alex or me to chat about funds, the Rally, or life itself.

Cheers (brushing up on my British slang),

 Richard

Almost famous- our first published article

***"Who says young people can't make a difference, and have fun, too? WC's own freshman Alex Insel and best friend Richard Rinaldi, a freshman at Georgetown University, are ready to embark on the adventure of a lifetime: The Mongol Rally!"***

Article: [http://elm.washcoll.edu/past/080/02/dona.php](http://elm.washcoll.edu/past/080/02/dona.php "http://elm.washcoll.edu/past/080/02/dona.php")

The Jersey Boys have landed an article in The Elm, the college newspaper of which Alex attends. This will hopefully be the first of many publicity pieces leading up to the rally! The more people that know of our trip, the more money that we can fund raise for getting clean water to people who need it! If you have a friend, family member, a long lost step father who knows some one in any media venues(tv,newspaper,radio,etc...), please speak of our trip! Stay tunned with us, who knows- you may just see us on your television soon. -The Jersey Boys

Alexander Insel

Hey!

I am a freshman at Washington College which is in Chestertown, Maryland. I want to major in International Studies! I grew up in the Southern New Jersey. During the summers I am an overnight camp counslor. I also love meeting new people and having a good cheer. Obviously, I like to travel, and what a better place than a 10,000 mile journey to the desserts of Mongolia?

Hi there, I'm a freshman at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. I eventually want to work my way into the world of management. Right now, though, I work at the Media Center in my school's library and as an overnight camp counselor in the summer. I'm ready to raise a ridiculous amount of money for charity, and have an equally ridiculous good time doing it. Feel free to contact me anytime.
