Day 14 - Ups and downs...
We headed for the mountains but before we started to climb a motorcyclist ran into the back of us, which took some sorting out. After that we passed through a few different wildlife parks with the promise of seeing tigers, elephants and leopards but only saw monkeys! Then passed through beautiful landscape of coffee and tea plantations before arriving at the hill station of Mannur
Day 13 - steady day....
A day of taking it very steady got us to Coimbatore where we enjoyed beers and dinner on the rooftop bar of the hotel as we watched an amazing lightning storm...
Day 12 - Team dinner and beers!
Made very steady but slow progress with our new engine and got into Krishnagiri where we were joined by a whole bunch of other teams, one of which arrived on a truck!
Day 11 - engine ceased!!
Day started well and we were storming towards our target for the day when our engine started misbehaving and finally ground to a halt. After a few tows we got back to Tirupati where (after much confusion) got it re bored and fixed in a matter of hours!!
Day 10 - made it to Nellore
A good day on the road and made it to Nallore which seemed to have a very strong Christian influence.
Day 9 - bumped into a few other teams
Had a better day on the road and ended up in Eluru, had a look around very colourful markets.
Day 8 - Torrential rain!!
We drove for 3 hours through torrential rain and lost the 2 Aussie and Kiwi teams....
Day 6 - hit the beach
We hit the beach and were joined in the ocean by a group of locals taking photos of us.
Day 5 - Rickshaws showing signs of wear!
Generally a good day of decent roads (by Indian standards) had a few great food stops. Our exhaust cracked but fixed it with fencing wire. Team "The Richies" rickshaw in serious need of some tlc. Getting them all serviced tomorrow before heading to the coast.
Day 4 - Tough on the road.
Really tough day fighting through horrendous traffic jam but then crossed the Ganges!
3 years ago we travelled the length of Peru on a Mototaxi and enough time has passed to think it would be a good idea to do India on a Rickshaw.
