12 hours later we've arrived in Guwahati. Beware the bridge and traffic jams for all those behind. Eat, clean, sleep & Shillong here we come!

330km from Raiganj to here via route 31D, decent roads overall, nothing terrible. New Years in Assam; our 4th crack at it this trip. Great little town, nice hotels & not crazy out at night. Pushing for Guwaharti tomorrow night then Shillong Saturday am! The end is in sight! :)

worst highway ever, best highway ever... The reception is getting a bit chillier but arriving in Suri with a broken exhaust drew a friendly and helpful crowd. Met up with 2 teams of Brits, nice to have company. Rickshaw repaired, quiet once again! Feels like countdown is on!

arrived once again in one piece. Rickshaw is running well, greased the wheels and we're ready for tomorrow! This town only uses Piagio rickshaw so thankfully no service is required for us. Northward on the 60 from here for us. Expecting teams to start bottle necking soon as we all push for Siliguri. Expecting things to become more spartan for the last legs...
Odisha, India
Left Rambha this morning, took back road to a ferry to Puri. Turns out the ferry for rickshaw was 1.5 hours later, gave us time for chai & chats with the locals. Great day on the road although not a lot of ground covered. The light is starting to shine at the end of the tunnel even though it's still a bit faint from here. :)@
Andhra Pradesh, India
Three hours in the shop over lunch cut our goals pretty drastically. Hoping for an early start and a good drive tomorrow.

Spent the evening at the temple for Hindu new years then adopted a couple local college students and took them for dinner.

I've travelled the less road traveled for quite some time. However not in something less roadworthy than a bicycle.
it's fun being the 3rd wheel...
I'm a globe-skipping Canuck living abroad in San Francisco. I've never heard of a crazy plan I couldn't get behind.
I used to go hang out on icebreakers in the Arctic Ocean, but I think the last boat I was on was in a river in Prague, and although I grew up on an island in the pacific, the last island I was on was a little Caribbean Island off the coast of Panama where the bikes all have broken chains.
