We had to pick up the pace today, so we blasted over the NH66 to cover almost 400km. Tomorrow back to adventure.
Quite the maintenance day today. After driving through the beautiful western gats we stopped to get a new wheel rim and have our driveshafts replaced. Back on the road we had to stop a few times to let our brakes cool down after a steep descent, refill our empty tank, fix a creaking noise in the roof rack and fasten our mirror. Hoping to cover a little more distance tomorrow.
Beautiful day through the green areas of Kerala and a little of Tamil Nadu. Basically this is just a location update
Day 1 on the road. Very busy but cool start with a wait on the field, burst to the ferry and then another wait to get on. Managed to be on the first ferry. Took it easy over the nice beach road through a forest of palm trees
The rock star feeling is already there. People asking for selfies, starting conversations while driving next to us on a motorbike, overtaking and then driving slow to see what's on earth is going on and the utterly suprised faces when we tell them we're driving 2500+km to Rajasthan. We even got invited to a wedding we're still heaving difficulties reading it, it's written in Malayalam.
Met team Aal Izz Well for lunch while we saw a number of fellow teams pass over the beach road. Tomorrow we'll go on the road to the green mountains on the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
Tukky has been good to us today. Just a minor fuel leak that we quickly resolved. Early start tomorrow.
