After an amazing week on the island were now making our way back up to Bangkok where we will be venturing our way over to the CNCF village in Vietnam to end our trip. Were all super excited to get involved with the charity that drived us into the Mongol Rally in the first place. Chris x

Who would have thought 2 weeks ago we would be on a connecting flight frot Bahrain airport. Were gutted we had to pull out of the rally but the new adventure has begun. We found cheap flights in our budget to Thailand and have organised to make our way over to the CNCF village in Vietnam to see the impact our fundraising will make....a mongol rally first right??@

Right sit yourselves down. Sorry about the lack of updates recently but it's been a mad few days. On Tuesday we crossed the Turkish boarder and noticed that the ambulance was leaking coolant, so we decided to pop into the first Renault garage we could find. They took a look and yesterday told us that the head gasket needed replacing and also that one of the pistons was worn and needed replacing. This would put us off the road for a few days and also cost us a minimum of £2,000! Therefore we have taken the horrible decision to pull out of the Mongol Rally, this was such a hard decision but we have already spent a small fortune, and have no trust in the vehicle getting through the tough countries ahead. We have met some really nice people here at the Renault garage who have helped us with phone calls, translations, and even treating us to dinner! This is a really horrible situation and we are in the process of getting rid of the ambulance now. We are planning to make the best of a bad situation, and maybe continue our own adventure into Asia. Mongol Rally game over, a new adventure starts here... Max
Dereköy, Turkey
We've reached the Bulgaria/Turkey border and made it through, very laid back. Last night was a sweat fest in the Ambulance with Ash convinced he was being crushed and needed to get out in his sleep. Cruising our way down to Istanbul, have only seen one team since we broke down!
Giurgiu, Romania
Making luxury sandwiches of Brie, Ham and Meats whilst queueing for the Bulgarian border. Cracked out the vest with the Ambulance door open. Loving the Mongol Rally!
